"Gou Tui" (狗推) is a derogatory term used within player circles to describe gambling promoters characterized by aggressive marketing, heavily scripted persuasion tactics, and a low level of professionalism. These promoters typically do not rely on professional judgment or long-term models. Instead, they drive bets or entice user registrations by manipulating emotions, promising high returns, or exaggerating success rates. Additionally, the term is frequently used as self-deprecation by gambling promoters themselves, usually to describe working as exhaustively as a dog, or lacking basic dignity in their line of work.
